You can buy patio wood at a lower price in the form of native woods larch and Douglas fir. They are also stable and weather-resistant.

A wider terrace benefits from shorter planks, which are also easier to transport. When installing, be careful not to combine hardwood decking with softwood substructures.

Long-lasting wooden decking

As a natural material, wood is generally very durable. How robust your terrace actually is, however, depends on the type of wood used and the individual level of care. Wooden terrace beams treated with a high-quality wood oil are less susceptible to infestation by insects or mould. It also protects against greying caused by UV radiation, for example.
