The old concrete slabs form a solid base when laying WPC decking boards for clicking. However, it is important that their surface is as even as possible. If some of the slabs have already sagged a little, they must be realigned again beforehand. Careful preparation of the subfloor is of fundamental importance for a successful result. Once this has been done, a weed fleece is laid. This not only prevents weeds from growing wild but also dampens noise. It has a similar effect to impact sound insulation under an interior floor covering.
The installation grids are laid out on the foil and connected to each other using the click system. At the ends, the grids can easily be shortened to the required size with a cutter knife. Once the grids have been laid out, the fastening clips for the WPC decking boards must be attached to the grids. The WPC decking boards are then clicked into these clips. The best way to cut the decking boards to length is with a cross-cut saw. A jigsaw or foxtail works too but it takes a little longer. As a rule, up to 30 square metres of WPC decking can be laid in six hours.
Besides the fact that neither special tools nor expertise are required to install click-on WPC decking boards with click system, there are other advantages. WPC is a mixture of about 30 percent plastic and 70 percent wood. It has the beauty of real wood with the advantages of plastic. No splinters form on WPC decking boards, so it is safe to walk on them barefoot. In addition, no rotting occurs. This is a particularly great advantage, as it means that maintenance is minimal. They are virtually weatherproof, too. WPC decking boards are almost indestructible. Due to their long durability and low maintenance requirements, they are also particularly good value.
